Eastbourne Dynamos - 2 vs 1 - Iden II - Match Report

Eastbourne Dynamos reached the Final of the Sheild this week with a 2-1 win over Iden II.

Goals from Lewis Colegate and Neil Taylor put Eastbourne in the lead late on in the game, but a goal with 4 minutes remaining from the visitors saw a tense final few minutes.

Dynamos managed to hold on a book their place in the Final which will take place at Hooe Sports Ground on May 12th for a 4.30pm kick off. The reason for the late kick off is that the final of the Cup Competition takes place at the same ground at 2pm.

Hopefully, we can get as much support down there for Dynamos as possible to cheer on the boys.

Eastbourne Dynamos secured their place in the Supplementary Charity Plate Semi Final after coming from behind.

St Helens took a 2-0 lead early in the game, and managed to hold onto it until the last 6 minutes, when Dynamos started their comeback.

Goals from Joe Lavender, Neil Taylor, Josh McDonald and Grant Lavender ensured Dynamos season continues.

Eastbourne will now face Iden II in the semi final on Saturday.

Thursday 19th April 2012

Eastbourne Dynamos made hard work of the 3-1 victory over Old Town Rec Rivals Victoria Baptists.

It was the home side who took a well deserved lead after lifting a free kick over Martin Bell and into the top right corner.

By half time, Dynamos had managed to take the lead, first through a Neil Taylor Penalty after Lewis Colegate was upended in the box, then Dean Pugh managed to find the back of the net, with Mark Likeman adding a third midway through the second half.

Dynamos now face a trip to St Helens in the Quarter Finals of the Shield.

In other news, Ore Athletic beat Hastings Rangers to completed their collection of trophy's, adding the Division 2 League title to their Sussex County Cup win and League Cup win.

Rangers must now win their last League game to leapfrog Battle Baptists and avoid relegation.

Tuesday 3rd April 2012

Dynamos were defeated by Hurst in the first round of the Supplementary Cup.

Dean Pugh had given the visitors the lead, but Hurst replied almost instantly, and secured they place in the next round with a goal in the final 5 minutes.

Dynamos now drop into the Shield, and will play their next game on the 14th.

Training Update
Training has now moved to Old Town Rec for a 7pm start from tonight (3rd April) and will continue here until further notice.

Eastbourne Dynamos ended their League campaign with a well deserved point away to title hopefuls Ore Athletic.

Dynamos had two goals disallowed before Ore took the lead before half time, but a Mark Likeman goal 10 minutes before the end ensured Dynamos left with a share of the points in a game in which they matched the Sussex County Finalists and were unlucky not to come away with all 3 points.

Attentions now turn to the Supplimentary Cup to prolong the clubs season past March.

Monday 5th March 2012

A good Eastbourne performance was not enough as they slipped to defeat away to Crowhurst in their penultimate league game.

An early deflected shot and a controversial penalty had given the home side the lead, before Josh MacDonald hit back with a goal before Dynamos pressed for a late equaliser, even having a goal ruled out for offside.

Tuesday 28th February 2012

Eastbourne Dynamos put in a much improved performance this week to see of St Helens after a fightback looked to be on the cards.

Dynamos raced into an early 2 goal lead through Neil Taylor and Mark Likeman, before having a very good goal ruled out and conceeding two sloppy goals to allow the hosts back in the game.

Taylor sealed the three points with his second goal in the second half.

10 man Icklesham Casuals came away with 3 points after beating Dynamos 2-1 at the weekend to keep alive their survival chances.

The home side lead 2-0 after a poor display from Eastbourne, a slightly improved second half saw Lewis Colegate reduce the damage with a fine header, but it was not enough as Eastbourne slipped to defeat.

Monday 6th February 2012

Dynamos made the trip to Crowhurst on Saturday only for the referee to call the game off due to parts of the Crowhurst pitch still be frozen.

Dynamos players were frustrated at having made the wasted journey when every other game seemed to be called off earlier in the day.

Eastbourne now have a week off before resuming things on the 18th.

Wednesday 1st February 2012

At late goal ensured St Helen's left Eastbourne with a share of the points.

Dynamos had lead most of the game through a Neil Taylor penalty, but with 3 minutes left, a strike from distance beat Martin Bell and prevented Dynamos from securing another vital 3 points.

Monday 23rd January 2012

Eastbourne Dynamos emerged from a 5-goal thriller at the weekend with 3 points. Mark Unsworth had given Dynamos the lead, before Ports pulled 2 goals back to lead at half time.

Second half goals from Neil Taylor and Mark Likeman ensured Eastbourne added to their good league run and goes a long way to securing their Division 2 status.

Eastbourne face St Helens at Old Town next week, their last home game of the season.

Monday 16th January 2012

Despite last week's close draw between the same teams, a strong second half performance from Eastbourne Albert helped knock Dynamos out of the Eastbourne Junior Cup.

The home side took the lead through Neil Taylor, as Dynamos enjoyed a bright start to the game, but it was the visitors who went in at half time 2-1 up, before adding 5 more in the second half, as they taught Dynamos a lesson in finishing. Damien Mills getting a consolation near the end.

Eastbourne have two more home games this month as they now concentrate on the league.

Eastbourne Dynamos came away from the Sports Park with a creditable 2-2 draw against title hopefuls Eastbourne Albert.

Dynamos twice came from behind to secure the point, with an own goal first and then Dean Pugh drawing his team level.

The two teams face each other in a repeat next week at Old Town Rec in the Eastbourne Junior Cup.

Monday 19th December 2011

Dynamos last scheduled game for 2011 was called off on Friday night due to a waterlogged pitch. No surprise considering the rain we've had this week.

No fixtures have yet appeared on the ESFL website, so we haven't been able to update our fixture list, but there should be a game on Saturday 7th January. As soon as we know new fixtures we will have them available here.

Training is now finished for the Christmas Period, with it scheduled to start again on Tuesday 10th January.

Remember that the Eastbourne Dynamos christmas night out is on Friday 23rd December, starting at Bibendums for about 8pm. We hope to see you there.

On a final note for this year, the club would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and look forward to football starting up again in 2012!

Eastbourne Dynamos lost a close game against Ore Athletic at Old Town. Josh MacDonald had equalised for Dynamos just before the break.

But two quick goals in the second half saw the visitors edge ahead. Dynamos late reply from Dean Pugh saw the home side try and force an equaliser, but it wasnt to be.

Eastbourne now have one game left before the christmas break.
