Eastbourne Dynamos were knocked out of the Eastbourne Junior cup by an Athletico side two divisions higher. Dynamos managed to hold the visitors to 0-0 at half time, and after going behind, managed to draw level through Dean Pugh's effort.

But despite some brave defending and a lot of hard work in the second half, Athletico managed to take the lead again.

Glenn Taylor had to fill in as referee after the appointed Ref withdrew during the week and a replacement could not be found.

Wittersham have withdrawn from the league, so we have yet to be told what will happen with the results they played. We assume all games against them will be null and void, and we have yet to play them so we will not be affected.

Players are also reminded that we now have a game next week instead of a free weekend.

After the game, manager Gary Taylor announced that he had just taken charge of his last game for the club. He was standing down due to work commitments.

The Eastbourne Dynamos committee, players and supporters would like to thank Gary for the enormous amount of time and effort he has put into this club over the last two years.

Dynamos face the short trip to Magham Down this Saturday with a big squad. Dynamos have a full set of subs for this game, something that hasnt happened since the first game of the season as a lot of senior players are set to return after missing last weeks game.

A reminder that Dream Team Transfers must be in this Saturday. I have tried to hand out as many Transfer Forms as possible. Also I know a few people would like a players list, so both form and list are available here.

Eastbourne Dynamos overcame Winkney Seniors in the first round of the Eastbourne Junior Cup this weekend. Goals from Dean Pugh(2), Jamie Drummond and Neil Taylor secured the win, although Dynamos will not consider this one of their best games.

Had Dynamos put away most of their first half chances, they would have had this game won by half time, as it was, the score was only 1-0, and Winkney were always in with a chance on the break.

A much better performance will be needed for next week if they are to overcome Division 2 side Magham Down.

Eastbourne Dynamos Football Club finished their pre-season schedule with a 3-2 victory over last season's Division 3 winners. Another patched up Dynamos team fell behind to a brilliant finish from the Common player whose shot hit the far post before ending up in the back of the net.

Jamie Drummond then levelled things with his first goal for the club when he coolly slotted past the keeper when one on one.

Neil Taylor gave Dynamos the lead with about 20 minutes to go when he placed the ball past the keeper after bringing the ball down. The visitors were soon level when Dynamos failed to clear a corner far enough and the Common midfielder fired the ball for outside the area, through a crowd of people and past Bell in the Eastbourne goal.

Jose Rodrigues cheekily flicked the ball over the keeper before heading into an empty net with only a few minutes left to give Dynamos the win.

Monday 20th August 2007

Dynamos put on a rather poor display after a bright start to lose 3-1 to Old Town Athletic at Old Town.

Eastbourne were missing a few key players, and some that did make the squad were struggling with injuries.

Neil Taylor got the only goal for Eastbourne to pull them level at 1-1 after the keeper failed to deal with his shot.

Manager Gary Taylor will be hoping for a better performance next week against Division 3 Champions Little Common.
