Lee Smart,

Eastbourne Dynamos first home game of the season was against Pebsham Sibex. Dynamos had a few players missing, but roughly the same team that defeated Battle Rangers last week.

Eastbourne started the game well, keeping possession and making the early running. Dynamos needed to test the keeper, but failed to make any clear-cut chances that tested the keeper. Dynamos did manage to take the lead when Dean Pugh's crossed was blocked by the defenders arm, in which the referee awarded a penalty. Pebsham claimed that the player was too close to be able to move his hand out the way, in which case the decision was harsh, but it did allow Pebsham to gain possession of the ball at the time.

Neil Taylor slotted away the penalty to the keepers left, sending him the wrong way. Eastbourne then should have gone looking for the second goal, but again, failed to really test the keeper.

Pebsham managed to force a few corners, but Dynamos defended well and in the end the half time score was 1-0.

The second half was more evenly matched, with Pebsham enjoying a lot more of the possession. Eastbourne seemed to find it hard to keep the ball, but always looked dangerous on the break.

Eastbourne then found the goal that gave them a little room to breathe. Neil Taylor played the ball down the line for Dayle Courtier to chase, who then hit a low cross first time into the area, Jamie Drummond was running in at the back post and he knocked the ball into the net for his second goal for the club.

Pebsham then pushed forward, but a few players continued to argue with the ref who was having none of it. The visitors then reduced the deficit with a well-taken goal. Dynamos failed to close down the player on the edge of the area, who fired the ball through a body of players, and slipped inside the post with Martin Bell scrambling across goal.

The away team looked like they might have started a comeback, and should have really been level, when their midfielder crossed from the right, but their striker at the back post some how put it wide when it looked an almost certain goal.

With about 8 minutes to go, Dynamos scored their third, which wrapped up all the points. The goal came from an unlikely source, in the form of Glenn Taylor. He picked up the ball just inside the Pebsham half. His long punt goalwards dipped under the bar into the top left hand corner with the keeper well beaten. An amazing goal, his first for the club, to continue Dynamos great start to the season claiming their second victory in as many games.
