Eastbourne Dynamos took on Willingdon Second in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday. Manager Gary Taylor was able to field roughly the same players that made an appearance on during Thursday defeat to Wheatsheaf.

The Dynamos got off to a far better start to the one on Thursday, and looked up for the game from the start.

Dynamos where also the first to have the ball in the back of the net, but the linesman had his flag up and Willingdon where awarded a free kick.

Eastbourne did eventually take a well-deserved lead when Dean Pugh's free kick found Wayne Burke unmarked in the area. Burke played the ball across the six-yard box and Neil Taylor poked the ball into the net.

Burke then got himself on the score sheet when Gary King gave Burke the ball on the edge of the area, and his first time chip sailed over the keeper and into the net to give Eastbourne a two-goal advantage.

Willingdon did fight back, and eventually converted a well taken free kick past David Moran in the Eastbourne goal, although the Dynamos should have defended better and will look to improve on that.

Just before the break Eastbourne Dynamos restored their two-goal advantage. Mark Likeman sent over a free kick inside the Dynamos own half. Taylor nearly managed to get to Pugh's flick on, but Pugh picked up the lose ball and fired pass the Willingdon keeper.

Willingdon came straight out the blocks in the second half after making some changes, and looked a far stronger team as the Dynamos where forced to defend. The Dons made their possession count when their Midfielder waltz passed the Dynamos defence, avoiding their challenges before beating Moran at the near post with a neat finish.

Eastbourne responded in the right way. They played their way through midfield and eventually Taylor was through on goal with only the keeper to beat. His neat finish just inside the post gave the greens a 4-2 lead.

Dynamos secured the win with Taylor securing his hat trick, saving his best finish for last. Half way inside the Willingdon half, he avoided the challenge of the Dons defence, then looked to have tired and run out of options before shooting from distance, beating the keeper with a spectacular effort that dipped just under the bar.

The Dynamos now have a little break before starting life in the East Sussex Division 3 with that little bit more confidence.
