The last round of fixtures of the year saw rivals Red Lion visit Old Town Rec as Dynamos looked to build on last weeks win over Beulah.
Dynamos injury and absent list seems to grow by the week, with Christian Courtier, James Dale, Stephen Fletcher, Chris Fletcher, David Moran, Jose Rodrigues, Glenn Taylor and Darren Vine also missing for various reasons.
Chris Milnes made his first start of the season replacing Dave Moran, while Ben Curwood returned to the starting line-up in place of Glenn Taylor.
Dynamos started very sloppy and look lethargic at times on a very slippery pitch. Red Lion managed to take the lead when Dynamos failed to clear a lose ball in the box and the Red Lion striker found the back of the net.
Red Lion doubled their lead when Dynamos were trying to hold the visitors high up the field, but a long punt towards the Dynamos goal was missed by the home defence, with the Red Lion player running clear through on goal with only the keeper to beat.
Eastbourne heads went down after this and they soon found themselves 4-0 down. Eastbourne had only a couple of half chances on goal, with some of them on target but for too far a distance to really trouble the keeper. Red Lion seemed to find it all to easy to add to the score sheet.
Dynamos did manage to venture forward on the 40 minute mark, and Simon Burke managed to pull a goal back for the home side when he diverted the ball into the net following a left wing cross.
The second half saw Dynamos come out the blocks with a bit more intent and purpose about their game, but just as they were starting to put pressure on the Red Lion goal, the visitors added to their lead when they broke away.
Dynamos missed a couple of good chances to close the gap before they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Neil Taylor following a corner. Neil Taylor picked himself up to slot away the penalty.
Dynamos conceded again to make the score 7-2 before both teams were reduced to 10 men. A disgraceful tackle on Neil Taylor by the Red Lion defender finished with the defender rightly being shown the red card, but Neil Taylor picked up what looked a serious knee injury and was forced to leave the field, and with Dynamos not having an subs available, had to continue with 10 players.
With only 10 minutes or so remaining, the game became very stretched and open, both sides had a few half chances to add to the already ridiculous scoreline, but it was Dynamos who closed the gap, even if it was only ever going to be for their already battered pride. Mark Likeman riffled in a shot from the outside of the area following the visitors attempt to clear a corner. Likeman's shot riffled into the roof of the net for Dynamos third goal of the game.
The game finished, but it had really been over as a contest from the first half. Some Dynamos players are currently not showing the commitment expected. The teams recent poor form could stem from the fact that the last few weeks has only seen a hand full of people at training. Lets hope that 2008 see Dynamos appoint a new manager, and the team start playing the sort of football they know they are capable of.
