Eastbourne Dynamos travelled to face Pebsham Sibex who were level on points with Dynamos in the league.
The home side got off to a better start and looked to get at Dynamos from the off. Pebsham managed to force Dynamos back and they won a couple of corners, one of which was headed in at the back post to give the home side the lead.
The visitors needed to focus and get their foot on the ball, but Pebsham kept going and when Dynamos were slow to react to Austin Wards defensive header, Pebsham picked up the lose ball before finding the back of the net.
Dynamos tried to play passing football but the game was constantly stopped for fouls that on another day would have been deemed fair. The referee didn't seem to like being spoken to by players and was booking more for questioning his decisions rather than fouls.
The visitors enjoyed a better performance after the second goal and did manage to keep the ball better and were winning some of the balls in the air. Neil Taylor must have thought he had scored when he managed to turn in the area and get his shot away, but a brilliant save by the keeper kept the ball out.
Dynamos got themselves back in the game when Mark Likeman's shot from distance hit a defender which looked to have taken it over the keeper, but it came back off the bar, hit the Keeper before hitting the post and Lloyd and Neil Taylor were both waiting for the rebound and it was Neil who put his name on the score sheet.
The second half continued in much the same way as the first had ended. Dynamos really looked the more likely to score. Dynamos had a succession of corners, which troubled the home side's defence but Dynamos failed to find the equaliser.
Eastbourne had been defending well but with Eastbourne looking for the equaliser, Pebsham always looked like they might break through
Dynamos changed things around to cope with a couple of players playing with slight injuries, and to try and push for the equaliser, but the change seemed to unsettle Eastbourne and Pebsham managed to increase their lead when Dynamos half cleared a corner but the player on the edge of the box had a shot which took a deflection of an Eastbourne player which helped it past Martin Bell who was given no chance.
Dynamos didn't let heads drop and continued to look for their second goal of the game. They didn't have to wait long after a ball forward was headed on by Stephen Fletcher, but the defender was stretching to reach the second ball and could only help the ball over his own keeper.
Dynamos still sensed that they could get something from the game, but did risk opening themselves up to the counter attack.
The visitors gave away silly free kicks on the edge of the area, but luckily Martin Bell was on top form and snatched the ball out the air when it look destined for the top left hand corner.
Good work down the right resulted in Neil Taylor trying to find Fletcher in the box, which he did, but the referee spotted the foul on Taylor after the ball had gone as he had his legs taken from beneath him. Taylor picked himself up to dispatch the penalty for his second goal of the game.
With just over 10 minutes remaining, Dynamos needed to keep things tight at the back. The referee was still handing out silly cards for petty things to both sets of players.
Dynamos where pushed back, and when the Pebsham striker found himself with only Martin Bell to beat he must have thought he was going to score, but Simon Burke stopped that when he brought him crashing to the ground with a cynical tackle which resulted in a penalty with no complaints from the Eastbourne players.
Before the kick was taken, the referee baffled everyone when he gave Dayle Courtier a straight red, but would not tell the remaining players the reason for his decisions. Apparently Courtier had shouted at one of his own players and the referee deemed that worthy of a straight red.
Martin Bell insured that Dynamos had not got themselves level just to throw it away in the last few minutes with a brilliant save, which he also pushed wide so that there was no possibility of a rebound.
There was time for one last flash point, when Dynamos pushed forward looking for a last minute winner, the ball came back off the post and three players jumped for the ball ending in two Dynamos players on the floor, the referee pointed to the spot and awarded Eastbourne their second penalty of the game, but following the referee being confronted by the linesman who had raced onto the pitch and the Pebsham players, the referee decided to change his decision and awarded Pebsham with a free kick. This sort of behaviour summed up the referees performance for the whole game.
The was the last major action of the game and it finished with the points shared, which Eastbourne must be pleased with after being two goals down so early on. Eastbourne now face a lack of fixtures with only 5 games left in the league between now and May and no Cup competitions.
