Eastbourne Dynamos faced top of the table Benbow in their last home game of the season.

The first half was closely fought, with neither team having any real attempt on goal. Both teams squandered possession when they had it and Dynamos thought it would be good to keep the ball in the air in windy conditions.

The game swung from end to end amid varied weather conditions that went from bright sunshine one minute, then snow the next.

Both keeper continued to have bit part roles in the game, gathering lose balls mainly. The game was very much a midfield battle with neither team really showing any signs of being on top.

The second half saw Dynamos play into the wind and that's when Benbow gained the upper hand in the game. The home side struggled to get out of their own half for most of the second half but defended brilliantly.

Martin Bell pulled off two good saves in quick succession to keep the scores level.

Dynamos only ventured forward a couple of times, one of those was when they keeper rushed out his area to clear a long ball, only for it to land at the feet of Darren Vine, whose long distance shot to beat the keeper landed just wide with the keeper scrambling to get back.

The only other Dynamos attempt was when they managed to work the ball across the pitch before a cross from the left was just a little too high for Lloyd Taylor to head back across goal.

Dynamos suffered a blow when Mark Likeman was forced off after and awkward landing left him clutching his knee.

The game threatened to get out of hand following a series of high challenges followed by bookings and then childish bickering.

Dynamos looked to be hanging on for a hard earned draw, when with 2 minutes remaining, a cross from the right was headed in at the back post as it just crept inside of the post. The disappointment was clear on the faces of the Dynamo players as this was such a cruel way to lose a game.

Dynamos have only two games left of the season, next week they face second placed Robertsbridge, followed by third place Wadhurst, all away.
