Dynamos faced Robertsbridge in Hooe after Robertsbridge's pitch was unplayable. Eastbourne have been struggling for players the last couple of weeks with injuries and work so Dynamos had a bare 11.
A big pitch, accompanied with wind and rain was not Dynamos ideal conditions for a football match, but they started off brightly and press Robertsbridge high up the pitch.
Neil Taylor and Stephen Fletcher both came close to giving Dynamos the lead, but they were only half chances, nothing really clear cut.
Dynamos where then dealt a hammer blow when they fell behind when poor marking allowed the Robertsbridge player to run through the Dynamos defence before firing past Martin Bell.
Eastbourne didn't let heads drop and continued to look for their opening goal which would get them back into the game. Eastbourne wasted possession at times and Robertsbridge always looked dangerous when they attacked.
Robertsbridge then increased their lead when they broke the Dynamos offside trap and ran through before slotting the ball past a helpless Martin Bell. Some players where calling for offside but once again some players stood watching instead of playing to the whistle.
Dynamos small squad became evident when they were reduced to 10 men after Christian Courtier had to leave the field after twisting his troublesome ankle.
Robertsbridge would admit they sat back and assumed the game was over at the start of the second half, but Eastbourne had not given up yet, and battled well. They even reduced the deficit when a long ball to Neil Taylor on the left found him level with the area. He then picked out the run of Fletcher in the box and he managed to get a foot to the ball before the defender and divert it past the keeper.
Eastbourne continued to look for the equaliser but they were beginning to get stretched and tiredness was beginning to show.
Robertsbridge then killed off the Dynamos comeback when they managed to get a lucky goal. A cross from the edge of the penalty area looked to be going wide until it dipped at the last second and bounced back into play off the bar. First to the ball was a waiting Robertsbridge player who volleyed the ball past a crowd of players and into the net.
If Dynamos needed evidence that it wasn't their day then the fourth goal should have provided it. Eastbourne had still not given up and where chasing back with everyone being marked until paths crossed in the area and the Dynamos keeper, defender and Robertsbridge player ended in a heap on the floor. The loose ball fell to the feet of an oncoming United player and he had the easiest of tasks of tapping the ball into an empty net.
Eastbourne had felt that the referee had favoured Robertsbridge with some of his decisions, as Dynamos were constantly penalised for fouls, but the same offences by Robertsbridge seemed to go unnoticed.
Robertsbridge capped off a miserable evening for Dynamos after stealing the ball from Dynamos in their own half, managed to work it well down the right before firing past Bell for another goal.
Dynamos had played out most of the game with only 10 players, and had done themselves proud for most part, but the goals conceded where all soft from Dynamos point of view. What's more disappointing is the fact that we are only taking 11 players to games, and are struggling for 11 sometimes. It is always the same players who are dedicated. They are the ones who turn up every week for training and are always available for games. But we seem to have too many players who turn up when they feel like it and use the feeblest excuses for missing training or games. How some of these players can expect to be picked for games is a joke, we have spectators who have attended more games.
