Wheatsheaf Willingdon showed why they won the Division 2 title last year, with a workmanlike display against a Dynamos team that are still finding their feet.
With 6 players still settling in, this was hopefully a good lesson for them. Dynamos didn't compete in the middle of the park, while Martin Bell produced a string of good saves, by far Dynamos best player, to keep Dynamos in it.
To be fair, the goals Eastbourne conceded were sloppy, the two in the second half in particular, Dynamos failed to deal with a through ball and were punished, and another was a penalty in which Eastbourne must not make rash challenges in the box.
Manager Steve Newson did get to see more of his players, and also had the chance to change a few things around, which is something he didn't get last week.
Wheatsheaf have played as a settle team for the last 3-4 years, while Eastbourne are still a relatively new club. Eastbourne will know they can play better and maybe time will also help.
