Eastbourne Dynamos finished off the season with a home game against Hollington United III. The last time the two sides met was in the league cup last season, where United knocked the home side out of the competition.
A slight change in formation for Dynamos saw them manage to hold off some early Hollington pressure. Dynamos appeared more compact in the midfield area, and looked to attack the visitors with their pace.
Martin Bell was called into action early when a deflected shot looked to be heading in, but a brilliant diving saved to his right, made sure the ball stayed out.
Dynamos first attempt on goal opened the scoring. Lloyd Taylor's pinpoint cross was headed in by Stephen Fletcher who managed to get above everyone else.
The home side could have increased their lead when Neil Taylor was put through by Jamie Drummond, but the keeper saved well with his feet.
The visitors then seized their chance to pull level, after their initial attempt on goal was saved by keeper Martin Bell, but the loose ball fell to the feet of the oncoming striker who fired the ball past Bell before he had chance to set himself.
Dynamos then found themselves behind when a cross was whipped in from the right, and was missed by everyone except the Hollington full back who managed to collect the ball behind the Eastbourne defence, his first touch took him towards goal and had put the ball in the back of the net with the Dynamos looking very static.
There wasn't many more chances in this half, with the both keepers rarely tested. The start of the second half saw Dynamos with more possession. Lloyd Taylor had a decent chance after lifting the ball over the defender with his first shot, then his volley was well saved by the keeper.
The possession eventually counted for something for Eastbourne, after a good move down the right ended with Neil Taylor teeing up Mark Goodwin, whose shot flew past the keeper from the edge of the area to draw the scores level.
Eastbourne were looking far better now, but found themselves behind when Hollington pushed forward and Dynamos were under pressure, and a shot from the edge of the area was diverted in by the United forward as the ball crept just inside the post, out of Bell's reach.
The game swung from end to end, with both teams looking for more goals, and as tiredness set in, it was a very open game. Both teams had chances to add to the score line, with the visitors probably going closes when their effort following a corner skimmed the outside of the post before going wide.
Dynamos again dropping more points just before Christmas, the next game will be on January 3rd as we move into the second half of the season.
