Eastbourne Dynamos played their last game of the year at home against Red Lion. Dynamos flew out the blocks and the Red lion struggled to cope with Eastbourne going forward.

As Dynamos rained in shot's from all angles as they pinned Red Lion in their own half. Neil Taylor and Steve Fletcher sent shot just wide. Lloyd Taylor broke the dead lock to give Eastbourne a deserved lead midway through the first half when he was put through on goal and his shot beat the keeper at his near post.

Dynamos continued to control the game with Darren Vine and Christian Courtier playing very well in midfield and Dean Pugh and Jeff Ferguson working hard down the wings.

Red Lion became more of a threat as the game went on but Eastbourne defended brilliantly and looked strong and composed at the back.

Dynamos played some brilliant free flowing football at times with speed, and were possibly unlucky not to have gone in at half time further ahead. But about 10 minutes into the second half Dynamos did go further ahead. Dean Pugh got to a loose ball first in the area, but was then judged by the referee to have been fouled by the keeper. Neil Taylor stuck away the resulting penalty as Dynamos went 2-0 up.

The Red Lion then pressed forward with nothing to lose and enjoyed their best period of the game where Eastbourne were on the back foot and appeared tired from their first half heroics.

The warning signs where there when Red Lion wriggled their way through the close attentions of the Eastbourne defence before hitting the post, the ball bounced free in the area and a goal mouth scramble included defenders Mark Likeman, Glenn Taylor and James Dale throwing themselves in front of Martin Bell's goal to prevent Red Lion scoring and ended with the ball being booted clear.

The Red Lion did score which their pressure probably deserved when a cross from the right was headed in at the back post. Red Lion built on their current momentum and Dynamos where hanging onto their lead by a thread. Dynamos half cleared a corner, but the ball was sent back in when the Red Lion player shot from outside the area. The ball went through a crowd of players and although Martin Bell got a hand to the ball, he failed to prevent the Red Lion equaliser.

Straight from the kick off, Neil Taylor was fouled by the Red Lion midfielder, but Taylor let his anger get the better of him as reacted by kicking out. The referee had no choice but to give Taylor a straight red.

Things went from bad to worse as Dynamos conceded a third shortly after when the Red Lion scored from just outside the six-yard box.

Dynamos didn't let head's drop and with 10 men, managed to equalise with 5 minutes to go. Dynamos won a free kick from just outside the area, and a Mark Likeman shot was fumbled by the keeper, Pugh was first to react but the keeper saved well, the ball was still loose and Stephen Fletch managed to score when he got to the ball first.

Dynamos should have had this game wrapped up after their first half performance and having a 2-0 lead, but maybe this was down to inexperience and tiredness in the second half. But Eastbourne will be pleased with their last two performances and will look to carry this on into 2007.
